Least Reached Peoples in the World
On November 28 through December 2, 1995, Christian leaders from 77 different countries came together in Colorado Springs to discuss how, over the next 5 years, every ethno-linguistic people group could have a pioneer church planting movement started in their land. The result was the formation of a globally cooperative strategy called The Joshua Project 2000. The goal of the Project is to identify every ethno-linguistic people group numbering 10,000 or more and begin a movement among them. They have identified the 1,739 groups most in need of a church planting effort and have already begun the work of reaching them. The Joshua Project 2000 is bringing workers together to research these peoples, produce prayer profiles, enlist prayer teams and mobilize church planting teams. This map shows where most of these 1,739 reside.
