May-Educating Yourself

May 2006

"God can't lead you on the basis of facts that you don't know."

The above quote from Dr. Ralph Winter seems pretty basic. I guess if I never hear about the country of Eritrea, then He probably won't lead me to plant churches there. That is why we study the Bible. If we don't know the Word of God, we can't act on it. Information is a powerful thing. In light of this, the more we know about the World and the amazing work that God is doing in it, the more varied and awesome ways that God can direct us and use us. This month, I wanted to share with you some resources that I've come across over the last 3 or 4 years. I am a resource junkie and proud of it. Hopefully, you will find ways to use and be blessed by these online resources. This is not a comprehensive list, but a start. The Traveling Team does not vouch for each and every piece of information found on these websites. We only acknowledge that they are good places to start when seeking resources on Discipleship and Mission. You must be discerning as you look at each website or download to decide whether that resources is right for you or if it is not in accord with you idea of how mission should be done. Also, each of these sites has links to other websites. That is another way to find some great organizations and resources.

All 5 organizations do missionary training in various parts of the U.S. and Canada. They each offer different types of training. Some will do language acquisition training, some might do Church Planting training, etc.

The resources listed above are just the beginning. You too can become a resource junkie, all it takes is intentionality and effort. I encourage you to educate yourself and see how the Lord will use you for His glory among the Nations. As you learn more about what is going on in the world, the Lord can use you to be a resource for someone else by passing the information you have learned onto others.

If you are looking for resources on a specific topic, please feel free to email me at jackjrose@gmail.com and I'll let you know if I've got some info for you. Blessings all!
