Accidents and Tickets
ACCIDENTS – Respond in the following order:
The driver should not move the van, nor leave the site of a major or minor accident, until the police arrive and instruct otherwise.
Make sure everyone is safe. Call the police and/or medical help.
Exchange name, address, phone, and insurance information with other drivers involved.
Call Evan Teer / Paul Hopp and Claude to inform them of what has happened.
Have the van towed, if necessary, to the nearest service station.
If the van is not drivable, and if no one on the team is injured, rent a small-to-medium size vehicle, and get to the next meetings. When the van is fixed, design a way to pick it up and exchange it for the rental car.
MINOR ACCIDENTS – The driver of the van is responsible for paying for all damage at the end of the semester.
TICKETS – In case of a citation, the person driving pays the fine. Obedience to traffic laws is important for at least two reasons: safety and Christian witness. You are loving your teammates when you follow traffic rules and regulations by providing a safe travel environment. You honor the name of Christ by obeying scripture: “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.” (Romans 13:1)
PARKING ON CAMPUS / TOLL ROADS
Take parking and toll money out of the bookstore money pouch. Keep a record of all the money spent on parking and send it to Evan.
In case of a violation, the person who parked the van must pay the fine.
Never ignore parking violations no matter what the campus minister or locals say.
